1. The ladder is the line-up for the winter intraclub challenge season.
2. All team members are responsible for their MAPTA and Team Dues for fall interclub play.
3. When partners split, the players will toss a coin to determine their position on the ladder. Players may not split after winter challenges and take a new partner for fall interclub matches.
4. Any existing team may drop off the ladder and challenge in anywhere during the Open Challenge Season. However, the new ladder position is not official until the start of winter challenges. If a team fails to win a spot on its first try, they may challenge one more time, above or below the team they lost to, if time allows.
5. Open Challenges onto the ladder are allowed to be played from Jan. 13th through Jan. 22nd. Each team will only be expected to play one match challenge during this time. If there is difficulty arranging a time, the challenged team should offer the other team 4 time blocks from Sunday through Friday. A half-day is considered one time block. Any players refusing to accept a challenge will be dropped one position on the ladder. The team below them will assume the higher position.
6. New teams may join the bottom of the ladder or challenge for a new position. A new team has two opportunities to challenge onto the ladder. If both challenges are lost, they go to the bottom of the ladder.
7. When there is a loss of a partner after winter challenges or during the spring and summer months, a sub may be brought in. This person is considered a sub because she did not go through winter challenges with her partner. If this ladder member and the sub that joined her decide to remain together as a team, they must accept a challenge from the team directly below them, if asked, and this match must be played before January 9th.
8. Any player has until December 12th to inform the Chair of a permanent change in partners for the winter challenges. This applies to those partners who have split, taken a new partner and flipped a coin to determine position. These new partnerships must accept a challenge from the team below, if asked, and this match must be played before January 9th.
9. Ladder members who have not played fall interclub as a regular team for MDC for two consecutive seasons will be dropped from the ladder.
